And those with excuses among the bedouins و جا ء ٱل م came to be permitted [in order to remain], and they who had lied to Allah and His Messenger sat [at home]. There will strike those who disbelieved among them a painful punishment. We learnt that when the Prophet ﷺ went for the expedition of,تب ك he made a general announcement that every person who was able had to participate in that expedition. So there were majority of the believers, what did they do? They prepared in order to go for this expedition. There were some other people who had genuine reasons because of which they were not able to go so they went to the Prophet ﷺ seeking his permission in order to remain behind. And then we learnt that there were some other people who came presenting false excuses to be allowed to stay behind. And then there was another category of people who did not even come to make an excuse, they just remained behind without any permission. So over here all such people are being criticized who either presented false excuses or presented no excuse at all in order to remain behind. Allah warns: Page 1 ربنا تقبل منا

هصيب ي ال هليم هذني ك فر وا هم ن م ع ذاب أ painful punishment....those who disbelieved among them will suffer from a ي How is this disbelief? Because ;اميان it demands معل from us, it demands obedience and action from us. When a person believes in ر ل هللا ﷺ then what does he have to do? He has to follow his orders. So if a person says that he believes but he does not follow, then that is a form of disobedience and that disobedience is a kind of disbelief. So over here: هليم هصيب ي ال هذني ك فر وا هم ن م ع ذاب أ ي 91. There is not upon the weak or upon the ill or upon those who do not find anything to spend any harm. any discomfort when they are sincere to Allah and His Messenger... Meaning, a person with a genuine excuse, if he is not able to go along and he sought permission to remain behind, then he is not sinful at all..there is not upon the doers of good any cause [for blame]. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. 92. Nor [is there blame] upon those who, when they came to you that you might give them mounts. Meaning a mount so that they could participate in this expedition because what prevented them from going forth with ر ل هللا ﷺ was extreme poverty. Because the ;صابة remember they were all of different types; there were some who were financially very strong and there were others who were financially very weak. So there were some who did have the means to participate in this expedition and there were some others who could not even afford a camel, a horse, and that meant that journey of hundreds of kilometers, they would have to take on foot so they came to the Prophet ﷺ asking him if he could provide a mount to them. So what happened?. you said, "I can find nothing for you to ride upon.". Meaning you had nothing to offer them and when you had nothing to offer them;.. They turned back while their eyes overflowed with tears out of grief that they could not find something to spend [for the cause of Allah]. Meaning when they realized they could not participate, it made them sad. Page 2 ربنا تقبل منا

There were some other people, who came up with false excuses to remain behind and there were some other people who were happy to be allowed to stay behind and there were some other people who were desperate to go along with ر ل هللا ﷺ and when they were not able to go, it made them so sad that they wept, they wept. Why? Because they were going to miss out on this reward, they were going to be of those who remained behind from this great opportunity. 93. The cause [for blame] is only upon those who ask permission of you while they are rich.. Meaning they have the means, they can go, yet they do not go.. They are satisfied to be with those who stay behind. They're happy to stay behind!.and Allah has sealed over their hearts, so they do not even know. Meaning they do not even understand what they are missing out on and so they do not have any regrets. They do not even feel bad about what they are missing out on, so such people, Allah says they are blameworthy. So we see that sometimes a person is genuinely unable to go forth in the way of Allah and sometimes a person, he doesn't have a genuine excuse and he stays behind, he stays behind either by presenting false excuses or by not even showing up. Now, what is it that matters? What matters is the state of the heart! It's not about whether we are able to go or not go, it's not about whether we are able to do something good or we're not able to do something good. Yes that matters, but more than that what matters is the state of our hearts because if a person is apparently giving charity, and this is a very noble deed, but if the intention is corrupt then what will that charity bring him? It will bring him punishment! Then that is not a good deed; it's considered a sin. So over here we see what really matters is the state of our heart that if we are doing something for the sake of Allah what is our intention? And if we're not doing it then again what is our intention. And if we are staying behind from doing something good, then we really need to be honest with ourselves that is this really a genuine excuse, or is it just something that we have come up with in order to remain behind. 4 PART-A AT-TAUBAH RECITATION (94-96) هبس هم اللي هه ال ي ر م ه ن ال ي ر هم هي هذر ون ها ها ل ي ذا رج ت م لي مك ها ه م :94.. ت They will make excuses to you when you have returned to them. Say, "Make no excuse - never will we believe you. Allah has already informed us of your news. And Allah will observe your deeds, and [so will] His Messenger; then you will be taken back to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you of what you used to do." 95: They will swear by Allah to you when you return to them that you would leave them alone. So leave them alone; indeed they are evil; and their refuge is Hell as recompense for what they had been earning. 96. They swear to you so that you might be satisfied with them. But if you should be satisfied with them - indeed, Allah is not satisfied with a defiantly disobedient people. Here some people are being mentioned who are going to come to the Prophet ﷺ after not having done their assigned work. Why were they going to come? In order to present excuses. And this happened when the Prophet ﷺ returned from the Battle of.تب ك Remember when the Prophet ﷺ went for this expedition, he went in order to fight the Romans and the Prophet ﷺ remained at تب ك for several days however, the Romans did not show up. The enemy did not show up, so there was no real confrontation, there was no actual battle and after a stay of several days the prophet ﷺ returned to So this entire journey was basically a test for the believers. This entire expedition was meant to.مد نة reveal, was meant to expose the reality of the people. So over here the Prophet ﷺ is warned that when you will return to,مد نة what will happen? Some people are going to come to you, they are going to come presenting excuses, they're going to come swearing oaths to you. Why? In order to please you! But all of these excuses, Allah says they are false. Page 4 ربنا تقبل منا

In the previous أ يت we learned that some people remain behind due to some genuine excuses and in the previous أ يت we learned, that Allah سبانه و تعالى defended them, Allah was pleased with them. But those who are mentioned over here are those who stayed behind without a genuine reason, they are being criticized. The question is who has a genuine reason? Who has a genuine excuse that allows him to stay behind from a cause such as this? Who? The person who is ill, or the person who does not have the resources to strive in the way of Allah و تعالى ;سبانه they lack money, they do not have the health or they have certain responsibilities preventing them from going out in the way of Allah. So these people, they are excused and we learned that because they desire to be with the Prophet ﷺ to go out in the way of Allah, what happened? Allah سبانه و تعالى said that He will reward them, and yes He did reward them. تب ك when he returned from the Battle of,ﷺ we learn, that the Prophet بخارى we learn, in د ث In and as he was approaching,مد نة he said: There are some people in مد نة who were with you all the time, you did not travel any portion of the journey nor did you cross any Valley but that they were with you.?مد نة How could they be with us when they were in! ي ر ل هللا said: صابة The The Prophet ﷺ said: ب سه م ال ذ ر Genuine excuse prevented them (from being with you) Otherwise their heart was with you, their desire was there and so they will be rewarded even though they did not take a single step in this expedition. Why?. Because of their intention, because of their.سبانه و تعالى genuine excuse and because of their longing to be in the way of Allah So we see that those with genuine excuses were given reward even though they did not go along with.ر ل هللا ﷺ And those with false excuses, they are declared فا ق over here. Now apparently the action was the same; both were staying behind. You see one group stayed behind with a genuine excuse, another group stayed behind with no genuine excuse, with the false excuse. Apparently the action was the same but.فا ق and the other is being called a مسن the result is completely different. One is being called the Why? Because of the difference in the state of the heart! So we have to see if ever we have to give an excuse in order to stay behind from some noble cause, check; ask yourself honestly; Is this excuse acceptable near Allah? Page 5 ربنا تقبل منا

ي We might be able to please and satisfy people, but is this acceptable near Allah? Is this really genuine? Because we see that there were about eighty hypocrites who were in مد نة even at this time in the life of the Prophet ﷺ and their names, the Prophet ﷺ was informed about them. And about them we learned; the,صابة they said, that during the life of Allah's messenger ﷺ some men among the hypocrites used to remain behind. Meaning they would not accompany him in the expeditions, whenever he went out for a,غزوة they would be pleased to stay at home behind Allah's messenger. And when Allah's messenger returned, they would put forward false excuses and take oaths wishing to be praised for what they had not done. So we need to be honest with ourselves, we need to be truthful with Allah سبانه و تعالى because He knows what our real state is and He knows what the state of our heart is. You see a person who is sincere to Allah, then he knows that no matter how much he has done, no matter how much he has done, it is not sufficient. So every chance to do good is a great opportunity so he would not allow himself to remain behind. And if really there is a genuine reason preventing him then he would not be rejoicing at that time rather he would be sad that he's missing out an opportunity and because of his state of heart Allah will reward his even though his has not lifted a finger in that cause. 97. ك ف ر ا و ع راب أ شدي ال هن فاق ا وأ ج در أ ل ل م ا دود ما أ ر هل هه وهللاي ع هليم ه ي م زنل هللاي ع. The Bedouins are stronger in disbelief and hypocrisy.. Why is their hypocrisy worse? Because the environment they live in is harsh overall so that has an effect on their temperament also... and they are more likely not to know the limits of the [laws] Allah has revealed to His Messenger... And because of this ignorance, they are more severe in their hypocrisy. So we learn that ignorance is something that leads to hypocrisy; that leads to foolishness. When a person does not understand, when a person does not know what he's missing out on, then what happens? He s very happy! And when a person understands what he's missing out on, then what happens? He is very, very sad because he missed out that opportunity. So we see that the Bedouins, Allah says that they are stronger in their disbelief and hypocrisy; Why? Firstly because of their environment and secondly because of their ignorance because they are far from.ر ل هللا ﷺ the centers of knowledge, they did not stay in the company of.. And Allah is Knowing and Wise. Page 6 ربنا تقبل منا

98. And among the Bedouins are some who consider what they spend as a loss and await for you turns of misfortune... Why? Because they do not understand!. Upon them will be a misfortune of evil. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing. But they're not all the same. 99. Among the Bedouins are some who believe in Allah and the last day and consider, what they spend as means of nearness to Allah and of obtaining invocations of the messenger. Meaning when they have to spend in charity they like that. There are some who take spending in the way of Allah as a burden and there are others who take that as a means of approaching nearness to Allah says: And when they do that, Allah.سبانه و تعالى.. Unquestionably it is a means of nearness for them. Allah will admit them to His mercy. Indeed Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. So here we see that ;صدقة charity is a means of drawing close to Allah. So whenever a person wishes to be of the مقرب servants of Allah, whenever you want to draw close to Allah, whenever you want to feel near to Allah, then what is the way that we are being taught in this Ayah? Give صدقة. Expecting the return from whom? From Allah alone and nobody else!! The fact is that when a person gives for Allah his time, his ego, his money, his food, whatever he gives for the sake of Allah, then yes, this is something that will draw him close to Allah. 1 In a د ث we learn that: On the Day of Judgment Allah will say to a person: O son of Adam! I fell ill and you did not visit Me. The slave will say: O Lord how could I have visited You when You are the Lord of the worlds, [how could you be sick?] Allah will say: Did you not know that My servant so and so had fallen ill and you did not visit him? Had you visited him, you would have found Me with him. O son of Adam I was hungry, I asked you for food and you did not feed Me. The servant will say: O Lord how could I have fed You when You are the Lord of the Worlds? Allah will say: Did you not know that My such and such servant asked

ي you for food. [He was needy of food] and you did not feed him. Had you fed him you would have found Me with him. What does this mean? That when a person does something for the sake of Allah whether it is giving charity or going to visit a sick person, feeding a hungry person, then in fact he is taking a step toward who? Allah و تعالى.سبانه And especially the deed where you cannot expect any reward from the people, because generally what are those deeds that we like to do? Deeds which will be acknowledged by people, for which we will be thanked, for which we will be praised and what happens; when we know that we are not going to be praised rather we are going to be criticized, we know that people are not going to be happy, they're still going to find something to be upset with us over, then what happens? You remind yourself, No; I'm doing this for Allah! I will bear the criticism; I will bear their!سبانه و تعالى behavior. Why? For the sake of Allah You see when you go to visit a sick person and they give دعا to you, they thank you for coming, then you feel like going and visiting them again and again. But when you go to visit a sick person whom you know that the moment they see you they will begin complaining and they will be upset why you didn't call them earlier or why you didn't visit them sooner, then what happens? You hesitate going there. So why is it that you would go then? Why? To gain praise from them? No; to gain the approval of Allah! So this deed, will it not bring you closer to Allah? It will bring you closer to Allah. So: أ ل.Allah says:. Unquestionably it is going be. means of closeness for them. سبانه و تعالى Closeness, nearness to who? To Allah ي ا ق ر بة.. it is going to be a ها ن لي ه م 100. وي ل ن ال faith.... And the first forerunners in the وال ي سا هبق ن ن صا هر. أ ن صا هر and the مهاجرني. Among the ه م ال م ها هج هر ني وال Those who go first make it to the front. So they are the مقرب servants of Allah being the first in doing good it makes a person closer to Allah. ن صا هر So: وي ل ن ه م ال م ها هج هر ني وال ال first, those who helped the cause of هجرة - Those who did ال ي سا هبق ن ن Allah first, Allah calls them ي ول ال.ال ي سا هبق ن ي وال هذني ات ب ه ه ب ه سان...and those who follow them with good conduct, Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him. And He has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment. Page 8 ربنا تقبل منا

This is true success! The Prophet,ﷺ he said to اوب يد اخلدري that: ﷺ O Abu Sa eed! Whoever happily accepts Allah as his Lord, Islam as his religion and Muhammad as his messenger is necessarily entitled to enter paradise. So Abu Sa eed هللا عنه,ريض he wondered and he said, ير ل هللا Can you repeat that for me?..اميان. I only heard something about جني ة Meaning you're saying that somebody is definitely going to Did I miss out on something? Can you repeat that for me? So the Prophet ﷺ repeated it for him. What?. That whoever happily accepts Allah as his Lord, Islam as his religion and Muhammad ﷺ as his messenger, he is necessarily entitled to enter. جني ة. enter ي جنة So the Prophet,ﷺ when he repeated this, he added, he said: There is another act which elevates the position of a man in جني ة to a grade one hundred higher. Meaning this is something that will admit him to جني ة but if he does this one extra thing, this will elevate his ranks one hundred ranks higher. It's like skipping, going high one hundred levels. So Abu Sa eed be. was curious. He wondered who that would (ريض هللا عنه) And the Prophet,ﷺ he said: Jihad in the way of Allah, Jihad in the way of Allah, striving in the way of Allah. So over here in this,أ ة who is mentioned? Those who believe but in addition to that they also strive in the way of Allah; they're doing something to show that the دني of Allah is important to them. So they're learning it, they're spreading it, they're defending it, they're supporting it with their money, with their time, with their effort, with their lives, so such people, their reward, their level in جني ة will be even higher than the rest of the believers And among those around you of the Bedouins are the hypocrites and also from the people of Medina. They have become accustomed to hypocrisy Meaning they have become experts in deception, in trickery, in lying, in swearing oaths that whenever the believers have to go for an expedition they know exactly how to get out of it. They know what kind of oaths to swear, what kind of excuses to present. Page 9 ربنا تقبل منا

ي ه ٱلن فا هق ي hypocrisy They have become accustomed to م رد وا ع ه They are so used to it that they don't even feel guilty about it anymore. You know it's like if you stay behind a good cause once, then what happens? You feel bad. But then what happens; you stay behind the next day and the next and the next day.. Then what happens? It just gets worse over time. Like for example if a person is jobless for an entire month; he feels bad, he's trying actively to find some work somewhere, anywhere, but what happens? One month goes by, three months go by, five months go by, and if he does not apply actively, if he does not do anything to get a job then what happens? He gets used to just staying at home. Then what happens? He begins to cut off his social circle because he feels shy of going around. So what happens? He gets so used to it in his shell that he doesn't even realize what he's missing out on. So over here people who repeatedly, continuously stay behind from good causes, they are being criticized. Allah says: You do not know them but We know them. We will punish them twice in. ل ت ل م ه م this world. Then they will be returned to a great punishment And then there are others who have acknowledged their sins. ر ه يي ئ ا bad.. They had mixed a righteous deed with another that was خل ط ا مع ال صا ه ل ا وأخ Perhaps Allah will turn to them in forgiveness. Indeed Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. Then there is another group of people that is mentioned here. Those who have mixed some good deeds with the bad deeds, and this is the reality of many of us. So on one hand we should have hope of Allah's forgiveness because Allah says: forgiveness.. Hopefully, perhaps Allah will turn to them in...ع س هللاي أ ن ت ب عل ي ه م He will accept their repentance... But on the other hand they also have to do something.what is it that they have to do? كي و ت طه ر ه ه ي ت ه م أ م ا هل ه هم صد قة ه ه يم ه ب ا و صل.103 عل ي ه م. Take O prophet from their خ ذ wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them increase and invoke Allah's blessings upon them... When we feel like we have done something wrong, generally what do we do? We ask other people, Please remember me in your. s دعا Please pray for me. What do we see over here? That the Prophet ﷺ is asked to pray for them but in addition they also have to do something. What do they have to do? Give charity. Because charity, what does it do? It extinguishes the fire of sins that we have kindled for ourselves, that we have light for ourselves. It also Page 10 ربنا تقبل منا

cools down the anger of Allah و تعالى.سبانه So when we have done something wrong, when we see we are falling behind in doing good, then what is it that we need to do? Do something good in order to make up for what we missed out on. ن لي ه م and Knowing. تك ي صال. Indeed, your invocations are reassurance for them and Allah is Hearing هان 104. Do they not know that it is Allah who accepts repentance from His servants and He receives charities and that it is Allah who is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful? Meaning why would they not repent to Allah? Why would they not do good in order to draw closer to Allah when Allah accepts repentance of His servants? He accepts their good deeds. خ ذ أ و. ال ي ص د قا هت Because you see when we give صدقة it seems like we're helping a human being, it seems like we're helping a worldly cause but what do we see? When a person gives,صدقة in reality he is giving to who? Allah! He is benefiting himself, because in reality he is giving to Allah. خ ذ أ و... Allah takes charity... ال ي ص د قا هت Meaning that Allah will take it and Allah will make it grow, Allah will increase and multiply the reward according to what? According to the level of our sincerity, according to the faith with which we gave that charity And say, "Do as you will for Allah will see your deeds. Meaning now what has happened has happened in the past. What you need to worry about is your present state and your future state. Many times it happens that we keep dwelling over the mistakes that we have made in our past. What do we learn from these يت?أ Move on from it. What has happened has happened. Seek Allah's forgiveness. Be hopeful that Allah will forgive. Now do something good to make up for the wrong that was done in the past and now worry about the actions that you're doing now. Worry about the actions that you will do in the future. Like for an example; if a person has missed a prayer, then what happens? He begins to think, Oh I'm such a bad person I don't think my prayer will benefit me at all, why should I bother praying? No! Be hopeful that Allah will forgive, make up for the missed prayers, perform extra,ونافل give صدقة and then worry about how you can fix your prayers now and in the future. Page 11 ربنا تقبل منا

..and you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the Witnessed and He will inform you of what you used to do. Because Allah will see your deeds and so will His messenger and the believers. Allah will see your deeds. The messenger will see your deeds. The believers will see your deeds. Meaning now people will witness your behavior. People will witness your actions and even if you manage to please them, remember that ultimately the return is to Allah who will inform you of the reality of your deeds what they are worth. وأ خر ون م ر ج ن م هر هللاه.106 هل.and they are others deferred until the command of Allah... Meaning their case is pending, their case is pending, it hasn't been resolved yet. Why? Because it is up to Allah. Some people, because of the sincerity with which they have repented, the actions that they have taken, what happens? Their repentance is accepted. Like for example; in a د ث we learn that if a person fixes his face, you know, نصب he fixes his face towards Allah, directs his face to Allah making,دعا determined to not move until his دعا is answered. Then what happens? Either Allah will give him what he has asked for or Allah will store it for him for later on. Likewise we see that there were some whoصابة did not go in this expedition and they did not really,مسجد returned, they went to the ﷺ have a genuine excuse. What happened? As soon as the Prophet they tied themselves up to the pillars of the مسجد and they said we should only be let go when our وتبة is accepted by Allah. So you see they took extreme measures to make up for the wrong that they had done. So what happened? Their وتبة was also accepted very soon. But then there were some others, whose matter was deferred until later. Who are these people? These were three صابة and Allah did not reveal their وتبة immediately. Allah says:. whether He will punish them or whether He will forgive them, [it s up to Allah] and Allah is Knowing and Wise. Allah is Knowing and Wise. Meaning He knows what they have done and He is wise in what He has decided concerning them. So what do you see? That all of these different groups of people that are mentioned over here, what do we learn? That ultimately we can only be successful if our state of heart is sincere, if we are sincere to Allah عزوجل and if we are insincere to Allah then it doesn't matter how happy people are with us. It doesn't matter how many stamps of approval they give to us, we will suffer Page 12 ربنا تقبل منا

if Allah is not happy with us. So what we need to be concerned about now and later is our relationship عزوجل with Allah Page 13 ربنا تقبل منا

PART-B AT-TAUBAH ي وال ي ذ وا مس هذني ا ت هجدا ه ض ار ا وك ف ر ا و تف هر ق ا ب ي ال م ؤ هم هن ي.107 [hypocrites] who took for themselves a mosque. Why?.And [there are] those.for causing harm and disbelief and division among the believers and as a station for whoever had waged war against Allah and His Messenger before. And they will surely swear, We intended only the best. And Allah testifies that indeed they were liars Do not stand [for prayer] within it - ever. A mosque founded on righteousness from the first day is more worthy for you to stand in. Within it are men who love to purify themselves; and Allah loves those who purify themselves Then is one who laid the foundation of his building on righteousness [with fear] from Allah and [seeking] His approval better or one who laid the foundation of his building on the edge of a bank about to collapse, so it collapsed with him into the fire of Hell? And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people Their building which they built will not cease to be a [cause of] skepticism in their hearts until their hearts are stopped Meaning until they die.. And Allah, is Knowing and Wise. Now in these,أ يت the مسجد ضار is mentioned. The مسجد of ضار. ضار is to inflict harm on others. Meaning, the objective of the so called مسجد was to inflict harm on the Muslims, on the cause of Islam. We learn that in Medina there were mainly two,مساجد two mosques that were built by the Prophet performed the prayers, he led ﷺ, where the Prophet مسجد نب ي city, was inside the مسجد One.ﷺ the صابة in prayer. And there was another,مسجد which was outside the city, which was in,قباء which ﷺ had started building and then before it's construction was completed, the Prophet ﷺ the Prophet.هجرة went to Medina, he built it, on his journey of Page 14 ربنا تقبل منا

Now these two ;مساجد they both had their special virtues. We learned that the Prophet ﷺ he would go.مسجد قباء in صال ة over there. He would go in order to perform صال ة in order to perform مسجد قباء to Meaning he would go with the intention of performing صال ة in ;قباء that was his sole purpose of going to.مسجد قباء Do we ever do that? هلل,ا لمد if we do that, it is good that we go to a,مسجد why? Just to pray there. Generally what happens? We go because our friend is coming, our sister is coming, so we think, Okay you know we can also socialize there. Good, but sometimes go sincerely, exclusively, why? To perform over there. Or generally we go صال ة... That, This is also a house of Allah and I should also pray صال ة for the purpose of marriage or things like that. So anyway We learned that the,منافق ن the hypocrites, they wanted to set up a meeting place where they could come together for their activities and where they could also secretly plot against the Muslims. Now if they did it in any place, they would come under attention. So they decided to do this in a so called.مسجد They said, We will make a,مسجد we will call it a مسجد and nobody is going to doubt us. We will be apparently doing a good thing and behind this veil of a noble cause, we will do what we want to do. So they built a مسجد and they requested the Prophet ﷺ to come and pray there so that, ر ل هللا ﷺ would also be granted its virtues and it would have a stamp of approval from مسجد that and then they could just stay there and do their activities and their evil plotting against the Muslims. And. صال ة also, this was an escape for them, because they did not like to pray So if they did not come to مسجد نب ي and they were not found in قباء,مسجد people will wonder, Where were you? So now they could say, Oh we were in, in this مسجد of ours, where they would not even ﷺ pray! Apparently, they were doing righteous deeds. So what happened? They wanted the Prophet to come and pray صال ة over there. But هللا ﷺ,ر ل he was busy at that time with the expedition to there. So he said that on his return he will stop by and pray.تب ك Now on return from,تب ك Allah سبانه و تعال ى revealed these أ يت exposing the reality of the so called had it ﷺ the Prophet,مسجد Allah exposed its reality. And so this,مسجد The agenda behind this.مسجد demolished. He had it demolished. Apparently it was such a noble deed but because the intention was corrupt, what happened? It wasn't.سبانه و تعال ى worth any reward near Allah Page 15 ربنا تقبل منا

So what's the moral over here? That no matter how beautiful and apparently righteous an action may be, if the foundation is not of تق ى, if the foundation is not a fear of Allah, then that deed, no matter how huge, no matter how beautiful it may be, that it has no value It has no blessing It has no goodness whatsoever. So the work of,دني any act of worship, any struggle in Allah's way, any effort in Allah's way, it must be done with sincerity. Whether it is small or it is big, it must be done with.اخالص Because if اخالص is missing then what will happen? That action is worthless. If the intention is to seek Allah's approval, then what will happen? Even a little bit, even a little deed will suffice. The Prophet ﷺ said: Whoever builds a مسجد for the sake of Allah, like a sparrow's nest. Can you imagine a sparrow's nest? How small would it be? And this bird which is mentioned in this it's not actually a sparrow. This is a translation, it's actually a rare bird whose nest is basically a,د ث hole in the ground. It's nothing, it's just a hole in the ground. It doesn't even collect any twigs or anything like that, it's just a hole in the ground. So whoever builds a,مسجد even if it's as small and humble like the nest of a bird,.جنة.allah will build for him a house in Why? Because the intention was sincere. The intention was Allah's approval, so Allah will reward him. The Prophet ﷺ also said that: He who builds a مسجد not intending to show off or being heard, then Allah will build for him a house "جنة in And if a person builds a beautiful مسجد but the intention is to impress people, the intention is evil, not to promote the cause of Islam but to harm the cause of Islam, then this work will have no blessing, it will bring no reward to a person neither here nor later and even in this world that effort will have no,ربكة it will have no blessing, it will dwindle away, it will break down. قباء are being praised because the people of قباء, specificallyأ يت the people of And we see that in these were those whose foundation was of whose مسجد that the أ يت is being praised over here because Allah says in these مسجد تق ى, So this was the people of قباء and Allah praises the people. Page 16 ربنا تقبل منا

ه ي ب ه ي ه ال م ي ط هي هرني وهللا ي...There are people who clean themselves and هفي هه هر جال ي ي ب ن ت ي طه ر وا أن Allah loves, those who purify themselves. Who is it that Allah likes? Those who keep unclean, who stay dirty? No! Who keep themselves clean, who keep their bodies clean. And specifically over here, it's their act of washing themselves, keeping themselves clean, after using the bathroom; and performing وض even though water was scarce. Still they.وض went to the extent of washing themselves properly after using the bathroom and also performing Because, when a person is in the state of وض in the day, in the night, then what happens? We learn that, especially in the night time, when a person goes to sleep with وض then an angel spends the night there with him. And what does the angel do? Each time a person wakes up in the night, even for a brief moment, even for a second... Has it ever happened that you just wake up, you turn to your side and you fall back asleep? So each time a person does that, the angel says, O Allah! Forgive Your servant for.وض he has spent the night in the state of,طاهر indeed he has spent the night So Allah loves those who are clean, who keep themselves clean. Then Allah says: ى... Indeed Allah has purchased from the هاني هللا اش ت ه م ال م ؤ سه م هم هن ي أ نف م ا لهم.111 وأ believers their lives and their properties... Allah has taken from the believers; He has bought these two from the believers. What has He bought from them? Their lives and their properties. Now when something is bought its price has to be paid. So what is the price that Allah gives to the believers for taking their lives and their properties? What is the reward that Allah gives to them in return? له م ني ة ٱ ل ي.جنة...[in exchange] for that they will have Paradise... They will have هبأ ن who is the best of, ي ر ل هللا asked, and he ﷺ said that: A man came to the Prophet اوب يد اخلدرى men?. Which person is the best? The best of all people, who is he?. The Prophet ﷺ replied: A man who struggles in the ways of Allah spending his wealth and staking his life. Page 17 ربنا تقبل منا

Putting his life in danger; the one who struggles in the way of Allah, spending his own money and spending his life day after day, month after month, week after week, year after year, the youth is going there, middle age is going there, the old age is going there... Where? In the way of Allah! When they were single, when they're married, with children, with a baby, going in the way of Allah, struggling in the cause of Allah. The Prophet ﷺ said, This person is the best of all people. Don't we want to be the best of all people? So this is what we have to do. These are the people who have dedicated their lives, to Allah who spend their lives living for Allah's cause not for the purpose of attaining certain worldly merits or worldly rewards or awards. What is their goal? I want to live my life for the sake of Allah. They have given their lives to Allah and Allah has not just taken their lives from جنة in return, they can get جنة them, Allah has purchased their lives for them, why? So that they can get in return. You know when you go to accept a job offer, you sign a contract that for two years you will work these many days or on these many projects and what is the reward? The pay or the benefits that you were promised in return. So the believers what do they do they make their contract with who Allah و تعالى.سبانه That Oh Allah my life is for you, my time is for you, my money is for you, my service, my youth, my effort is for you because I want جنة in return. Life and wealth, both are very, very beloved to people. They're very beloved to us, especially our life. It's very precious to us. So when a person does not even feel greedy for these two precious things, life and money, and he spends them, he invests them happily in Allah's way whether it is in a battle field or he's working somewhere else for the cause of Allah, for the sake of Allah then Allah becomes pleased with such a servant! Allah is happy with such a servant! And Allah will give him جنة in return! So what do they have to do?...they struggle in the cause of Allah. So they kill and they are killed. [It is] a true promise [binding] upon Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur an and who is truer to his covenant than Allah?... If you've made this deal with Allah, if you've made this contract with Allah, then have no fear....so rejoice in your transaction which you have contracted. And it is that which is the great attainment. What does Allah say? فا تب الي ه ش وا هب بي ه مك هذي ب ت م هب هه وذ هلك ه ال ف ز ال هظي م Be happy for this contract that you've made with Allah. And this, yes, you have achieved something great. And such people who do spend their lives in Allah's cause, how will they be treated on the Day of Page 18 ربنا تقبل منا

صابة Judgment? How is it that they will be rewarded on the Day of Judgment? Because you see the who did,هجرة who struggled in the way of Allah, their lives were a practical demonstration of these people? say about such ﷺ So what did the Prophet.أ يت Abdullah ibn Amar, he said that the Prophet,ﷺ one day he asked the people:.?جنة that will enter أمة Do you know about the first group of my جنة that will enter أمة The first group of my Abdullah bin Amar said, I said that Allah and His messenger know best [I don't know, Allah and his messenger know best] So the Prophet ﷺ said: جنة They will come to the gate of.جنة will come on the Day of Judgment to the door of مهاجرون The Because it will be closed initially So: and they will request that the gates of جنة be opened......the keeper angels, they will say, Has your account already been taken?. Meaning how come you ve come so soon? You know the people, their ساب is still being going on, what are you doing here...? Has your ساب been done?...they will say, For what are we to be called to account for, when our swords were on our shoulders in the way of Allah until we died in that condition?. Our lives were spent serving the دني of Allah, defending the دني of Allah. We were constantly, always on call, always, serving the دني of Allah and we died in that condition, so why should our ساب be taken? So what will happen?..the gates will be opened for them and they will enter.جنة And they will have قيل لةtaken, a nap of.جنة forty years before the rest of mankind will enter Forty years! Because if they lived forty years in this world did they get time to rest? No they didn't. They spent the time that they could rest in for whose sake? For the sake of Allah! So Allah will compensate them in the best way, on the Day of Judgment..So he, who trades with Allah than for him is goodness upon goodness. Page 19 ربنا تقبل منا

ه ي ه.د ث authentic,السلسلة الصيه is from د ث And this Now we need to see what are those causes in which I can strive for the sake of Allah? Investing my life and my property to attain a similar reward, what can I do? Before us is both دني and دنيا, the question is, what is my priority? What is the most important to me? What is MY love? What is MY passion? What is MY desire? Accordingly, a person will be rewarded. So such people, what do they do? What are their qualities? Who are they? Allah says:. ي ا هئب ن repentant......the الت Meaning always seeking forgiveness, always making.وتبة Meaning always seeking forgiveness, always realizing their mistakes and this is a sign of their humility. This is a sign that a person is not arrogant. When he confesses his mistake before Allah and he says, هللا, ي I need your forgiveness. I made a التي ا هئب ن - me. mistake. I need you to forgive said: ﷺ said that the Prophet عبد هللا نب برص Glad tidings to those who find a lot of ا تغفار in their record of deeds deeds. in his record of ا تغفار - Good news for the one who finds a lot of ط ب So: التي ا هئب ن - Those who make,وتبة repeatedly seek forgiveness. ا همد ون ا ل ا هبد ون Allah.. 21 The Prophet ﷺ said that: مي The best of Allah's servants on the Day of Judgment will be ا ل ون. اد Here ا همد ون is mentioned. The Prophet ﷺ said: مي Best of Allah's servants on the Day of Judgment shall be much., those who praise Allah ا ل اد ون Why? Because they thank Allah for what they have. They always find a reason to be grateful. Even in the most difficult circumstances, grateful for what Allah has blessed them with. And frequently praising ماد Allah in their lives for anything good that happens. This is ي, the one who frequently praises and thanks Allah always, always. Such people will be the best people on the Day of Judgment. cause... Those who travel for Allah's...ال ي س ا ئه ن Meaning, when they travel also, when they leave their homes, they leave it for Allah's cause. So they leave the comfort of their homes they spend their money to go for,معرة to go for ج and also for,جهاد for striving in the way of Allah. So, for example, for you to come and go daily, this is also a kind of, ياة this is also a kind of travel. Whether the trip is short or long and this is for the purpose of striving in the way of Allah for the طلب ال purpose of traveling. Because so,ال ي س ا ئه ن even teaching. This is a,ت ليم or علم, seeking لم many people are there who stay at home and they find a lot of comfort in that. And yes, our lives would be easy if we could just stay at home, and specially these days. Every day my daughter asks me, Mama is this our home day today? Because that home day has not come yet since the past couple of days, every day out, out... there is no weekend even. There is no day off. طلب what? for Allah that we are traveling, we are leaving our home, for نية Make this...ال ي سا ئه ن So for calling people to Allah, for,دع ة for teaching others also, for,ت ليم for,علم for seeking,ال لم of Allah and also traveling to دني for striving, struggling in the way of Allah, promoting the,اصال.أ يت see Allah's So if, in the summer, on the weekend, in the evening, we go somewhere, even if it's to the park and we're admiring the flowers and the trees and the birds, then again this travel should not just be for the Page 21 ربنا تقبل منا

تسبي to make more,اميان purpose of entertainment but rather to witness Allah's creation and to grow in.سبانه و تعالى of Allah تميد and And ال ي س ا ئه ن also includes those who travel to earn رزق...الل رزق.الل Because a person could easily be, you know, doing something wrong in obtaining رام money, sitting at home, or just going a few steps away. But he has to travel, do a daily commute and sometimes that is long and he's doing that for the purpose of الل رزق, because he wouldn't do it otherwise. He's doing it because it is الل and he needs it to fulfill his duties, to fulfill his obligations. And that is also for the sake of Allah... So: cause......those who travel for Allah's ال ي س ا ئه ن.ان شأء هللا And ال ي س ا ئه ن also includes those who fast... Those who fast. Those who fast! Abu Huraira هللا عنه,ريض he reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that: Allah says, that every deed of the son of Adam... Every deed of the Son of Adam is for him except for fasting....سبانه و تعالى Fasting is for who? For Allah The Prophet ﷺ said: Every good deed of the Son of Adam will be multiplied. A good deed receiving a tenfold to sevenhundred-fold reward... Each deed is multiplied. Some will be multiplied ten times, some twenty, some thirty and some seven hundred times..and Allah says, With the exception of fasting... Fasting is not just going to be multiplied ten times or seven hundred times. No! The reward for fasting is something beyond just seven hundred times. Why?.Because it is done for Me and I will give a reward for it, for a person abandons his passion and his food for My sake. There are two occasions of joy for the one who fasts; a joy, when he breaks his fast and another joy when he will meet his Lord. Page 22 ربنا تقبل منا

Another reward, a reason to feel happy, when he will meet his Lord. be happy when? When he will meet Allah. So: - be happy. So he will فٱ تب ه ش وا fast.... those who ال ي س ا ئه ن So ان شأء هللا fasting will begin either tomorrow or day after, huh... So ان شأء هللا, make it with this intention ي هللا for you! Only for you, otherwise I wouldn't keep myself hungry and thirsty, not even for the sake of a diet Right? We wouldn't do it. We could only do this for Allah. ال ي سا هجد ون prostrate... those who bow and...ال ي ر اكه ن For who? For Allah! When? In their prayer! A صا ب asked Prophet ﷺ that he wanted his company in جنة and the Prophet ﷺ said that:.رك ع and with جس د Help me with So,السج د,الرك ع this is something that will bring a person in the company of Prophet of Allah ﷺ in.جنة In a د ث we learn, السلسلة ا لد ث الصيه,صي د ث, that: When a servant stands for prayer, he comes with his sins and they are placed on his shoulders. So each ال ي سا هجد ون ال ي ر اكه ن time he does رك ع or he does,جس د they fall down from him. So now, صال ة,ان شأء هللا is not going to be a burden. Even if it's late at night, the long رك ع or the long is not a burden, it is a means of relieving our burdens, it is a means of صال ة heavy. it should not be,جس د getting rid of our burdens. Which burdens? The burden of sins! And then:... Those who enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong... Both are forms of charity, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong. Both are forms of charity, because Allah's beloved servants, they do not remain silent when they see wrong been done. Page 23 ربنا تقبل منا

ي ي The Prophet ﷺ said: There is charity in enjoining good and there is charity in forbidding evils..صدقة It's not just a deed that will go waste, it's like an act of ا هفظ ن وا ل Allah And those who observe the limits set by ه ل د و هد هللاه What limits Allah has set? The commands that Allah has given. Ibn Abbas said that, One day I was riding behind the Prophet ﷺ when he said: O boy I will instruct you in some matters. Be mindful of Allah and Allah will preserve you, safeguard His rights and He will be EVER with you. The limits that Allah has set, meaning the commands that he has given, observe them, be mindful of them, be careful about them. And what will happen? You will find Allah with you, meaning you will have Allah's help with you. Do we not want Allah's help? Do we not want His support? We do. So what is the way the Prophet ﷺ taught. Protect and preserve the limits that Allah has set, respect them, and Allah has set limits for everything from marriage for food. Even when it comes to fasting, has Allah not set limits? That beyond a certain point you cannot eat and drink and after a certain point you must eat and drink. So these limits, respecting them, observing them, this is something that will bring Allah's special help to a person. ه ه ش ال م ؤ وب believe.... And give good tidings to those who هم هن ي So who are those who believe? Those who also do good. Which good? The good that is mentioned in these معل ;معل!أ يت is what matters It is not for the Prophet and those who have believed to ask forgiveness for the polytheists, even if they were relatives, after it has become clear to them that they are the companions of the fire And the request of forgiveness of Ibrahim for his father was only because of a promise he هليم had made to him. But when it became apparent to Ibrahim that his father was an enemy to Allah, ي و اه Indeed... he dissociated himself from him.... Indeed, Ibrahim was هان compassionate and patient. This is why he made دعا for his father. هارب ا ههي م ل Page 24 ربنا تقبل منا

115. And Allah would not let a people stray after He has guided them until He makes clear to them what they should avoid... So Allah has also made clear to us, the limits that He has set.... Indeed, Allah is Knowing of all things Indeed to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; He gives life and causes death. And you have not besides Allah any protector or any helper.
